Spondyloarthritis (also known as Bekhterev's disease) and reactive arthritis are two different types of inflammatory joint disease that can be caused by Chlamydia infection.
Spondyloarthritis: This is an incurable chronic inflammatory disease that usually begins with inflammation in the spine and hip joints. Chlamydial infection can be a trigger for spondyloarthritis in some people. However, it is worth noting that not all cases of Bechterew's disease are associated with chlamydia infection.
Reactive arthritis: This is also a form of inflammatory arthritis that develops in response to an infection, often in the urinary tract or gastrointestinal tract. Chlamydial infection can be one possible trigger for the development of reactive arthritis. Chlamydia can cause inflammation in the joints, which in turn leads to symptoms of reactive arthritis.
These are two similar autoimmune diseases that, if left untreated, can leave you disabled in a matter of years. Your joints collapse, you feel unbearable pain all over your body. More people are susceptible who have the HLA-B27 antigen, but there are often patients without this gene, and it is often more severe.
Even if you don't have an autoimmune response, the chlamydia itself fills the joints and destroys them. More about the symptoms is written on this page.
Because of the difficulty in diagnosing chlamydia, and doctors' lack of awareness. Many people with arthritis can't heal because they don't know they have chlamydia. In my case, I was diagnosed with Spondyloarthritis because there were changes in the sacroiliac joint. As soon as I found chlamydia and started treatment I was changed to reactive arthritis, I described it all in my medical history. Read it here.
If you have Spondyloarthritis or any other joint problems, get tested for chlamydia as much as possible. Read here how to get tested properly. A lot of people walk around with painful joints all their lives just because of this infection.
